Event - Greenbuild challenges Manchester to make its buildings better

Greenbuild Expo is back at Manchester Central, this year on May 7th and 8th. The sustainable buildings and refurbishment event offers delegates the opportunity to attend a packed schedule of debates, workshops and seminars, and network with exhibitors showcasing the latest green products and solutions - all for free!

This year’s expo also sees the launch of the ‘Greenbuild Challenge’ which invites individuals and organisations to make a pledge to take more action to improve a building. And, crucially, to then make it happen. From switching to LED lighting or installing a new bike rack, to a full green retrofit, the campaign aims to educate and inspire people within the industry to keep striving for a more sustainable built environment and to recognise that more must be done to improve the collective green performance.

The campaign will follow several themes:

- behavioural change to improve the performance of buildings
- sustainable retrofitting
- sustainable cities & smart buildings
- materials and methods: making an impact

The best achievements from the campaign - the ones judged to show a positive change to both buildings and to the individuals who use them - will then be shown at the Greenbuild Expo. With a pledge that every building owner can afford to make, and can’t afford not to, this showcase will hopefully show that making buildings more sustainable is an achievable and rewarding goal.
